A lot happens in the bathroom: quick morning zombie routines, a DIY make-up session, cozy spa evenings with candles and bubbles, a hot shower on a cold day (hello December), maybe some romance,… Because of al these different activities my future bathroom needs to be functional, relaxing, beautiful and because I love light, I need it to be white, with some natural accents like plants and wood. It seems like I totally know what I want wright now, but the problem is I still haven’t figured out my bathroom style. I know that I like it modern, white, with some natural accents, but it seems I like different styles. Luckily I am only 23 years old and don’t (yet) own my own house. So I can take it easy and figure it out!

I am a huge fan of white interiors. They feel open, airy and look bigger and more inviting. Mirrors help to make a room brighter. A well-placed mirror makes the most of a room’s natural light and opens a small space.

A bathroom needs to be functional. I need storage for towels, make-up, a hairdryer, beauty products, my boyfriends stuff like a trimmer, gel,… As much as I like storage, I like simplicity and minimalistic design. Luckily storage can look beautiful and minimalistic to, take a look!

White rooms are beautiful, but sometimes they need some warmth. By adding just a few natural elements in the room, such as baskets, plants, flowers, beautiful towels or a wooden ladder (as a drying frame), a room can get a total different look!

Even bathrooms with a lot of wood can look fresh, light and modern!

One of the best parts of winter is the the cold and darkness outside, when you realize how lucky you are getting warm and cozy in your own little place! Maybe my instant happy December feelings are getting a little help from the christmas lights twinkling outside, getting warm by the fireplace and of course the taste of some delicious homemade hot chocolate milk (and a creamy moustache). The previous sentence summarizes a lot of my winter memories, besides a lot of family parties and yummy dinners, presents under the tree, my happy happy birthday, fireworks and celebrating the end of the year (and the beginning of an hopefully even better one). You probably can imagine how happy super enchanted I am December has finally arrived! I think the twelfth month is probably the best one of the year, and I think a lot of people will agree.

Anyway, to make these snugly winter evenings by the fireplace even better I tried to optimize my ‘everyday hot chocolate’ recipe by adding some simple ingredients. I just used some almond flakes and crushed, roasted, and caramelized hazelnuts (bresilienne) to upgrade my favorite hot drink.

Document Name2

Ingredients for 2 cups

  • 2 cups of milk
  • 4 spoons of pure chocolate
  • 1 spoon of crushed, roasted, and caramelized hazelnuts (bresilienne)
  • 1 spoon op almond flakes
  • 1 spoon of chocolate shavings
  • fresh whipped cream
  • some cacao powder

How to make:
Heat the milk (if you like it a little different, coconut is a recommendation)  in a saucepan over medium heat until it boils. Pour into a mug, add two tablespoons pure chocolate and stir. Stir it just a little bit if you like some melted chocolate on the bottom. For the finishing touch, top with fresh whipped cream, almonds and some chocolate shavings (made by using a peeler on a chocolate bar). Than quickly hide somewhere nobody will make you share this ravishing hot chocolate give it to someone you love, they will obviously love you even more.

For months and months I’ve been decorating my dream house (only imaginary) and I’ve put together the perfect furniture, decoration and color palette to create my own little perfect place! The problem is that I had assumed that all the interior decisions would be up to me since I was the self-appointed interior designer and CEO of decorating our apartment. Apparently I forgot all about the boyfriend and the fact that he should have a say as well. Luckily he loved my interior mood-board (thank God for pinterest) so I thought everything was going to be alright!  Just one little problem! When we went furniture (window) shopping it turned out we totally don’t agree on our future couch! I prefer fabric, he prefers leather, I prefer a light color, he prefers black,… Can we disagree more? One thing is for sure, finding our (read my) perfect couch is definitely going to be a hard task! I hope we are going to end up whit one we both like!

Here are a few glimpses of my dream living room and couch! As you can see, all light and fabric!

For my first real post I thought I’d share some of my current interior inspiration with you. This is basically what’s keeping me busy for the last couple of weeks. In less than two months my boyfriend and I are going to live together and you can’t believe how much I’m looking forward to it.

One little thing: before we can move in our own little place, we first have to decorate the whole apartment. Luckily we agree on most of the important matters. We both want to work with a black and white color palette to create a light and open apartment but still give it some personal touch by adding some accessories.
